UG Assessment Plan/Process
The undergraduate programs primarily involve students going into the field of speech-language pathology, and most of the instructors are from the SLP Division, so these programs are dealt with primarily through monthly SLP Division meetings and annual Retreat. Subgroups are formed to deal with specific topics as needed. The annual undergraduate assessment website and results were presented to all the faculty in the 2025 Department August Retreat.Direct:
-
Coursework grades: Percentage of students who earned final course grades of at least grades of C (73%) or B- (80%) in coursework for which the program objective receives focused instructional attention. The grade of C is the minimum required for the major while B- shows a more satisfactory level of competence. See Table 1 for learning objective emphasis by course.
- Capstone quiz: Percentage of students who earned ≥C (73%) or ≥B- (80%) on a short multiple choice low-stakes capstone quiz embedded in senior-level COMD 4200 (Clinical Methods) for campus and online students. The test questions tap basic but important big and small ideas that are answerable without immediately prior studying.
