Assessment Plan

The Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) annually reviews and approves graduate audiology programs. The Utah State University Doctor of Audiology (AuD) program undergoes a comprehensive reaccreditation review every eight years.

AuD students are evaluated through a dual system of academic performance and competency-based assessment. Students must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 each semester, with a grade of B- (80%) or higher required in all courses. Competency achievement is measured through empirical evidence gathered by classroom and clinical instructors to verify that each student meets defined knowledge and skill objectives linked to specific courses and clinical experiences. Students who do not meet established competency standards are provided with individualized remediation to achieve the expected outcomes.
