Christensen Community Engaged Scholars
USU Christensen Community Scholars are dedicated to applying their education to make a meaningful difference in their community and the world. Students accepted into this program will have the opportunity to engage in service related to their field of study and personal interests in addition to completing Community-Engaged Learning (CEL) courses.
This program involves taking 3 classes that are CEL approved (3500, 3600, 5210), creating a capstone senior project to meet the needs of a community partner (200 hours of service), and being involved in various community projects each month. Many COMDDE students engage in this project.

NSSLHA Club at USU
The National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA) club is for students in the Communication Disorders and Deaf Education undergraduate program at Utah State University. NSSLHA has a variety of events throughout the semester including various service projects, shadow nights with Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists, and other inclusive excellence events. Everyone is invited to join the club, regardless of their major. We also report to the National NSSLHA and follow the requirements for Chapter Honors on the website for the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) website.
Why should I join? NSSLHA is a great way to connect with your cohort and other students within the COMDDE major. It is a great way to find service opportunities and discover what career path is best for you.
You should also consider becoming a National NSSLHA member! This is the national group that is connected to ASHA. It is not required to join our NSSLHA group, but there are lots of benefits and it is a great thing to add to your CV.

To join, please email nsslha.utahstate@gmail.com and ask to be put on the email list with your preferred email.

ASL Club at USU
The ASL Club at Utah State University is a welcoming community for anyone interested in learning or improving their American Sign Language (ASL) skills and gaining a deeper understanding of Deaf culture. The club provides opportunities for students to practice ASL in a fun and supportive environment, whether you're a beginner or a fluent signer. Through regular meetings, social events, and educational activities, the ASL Club fosters connection between Deaf and hearing individuals, encouraging cultural exchange and language development.
We host weekly gatherings where participants can engage in ASL practice, take part in Deaf cultural events, and connect with guest speakers from the Deaf community. The ASL Club is open to all students and faculty, promoting inclusivity and awareness of the rich history and traditions within the Deaf community.

Student Academy of Audiology Club (SAA)
The Student Academy of Audiology (SAA) club at Utah State University is comprised of students pursuing their doctorate degrees in audiology. Our mission is to educate the public on hearing healthcare and audiological services while providing doctoral students with opportunities for excellence in education, clinical practice, and professional development.
In addition to our academic focus, we hold regular social events to help students unwind from the demands of clinical internships and coursework. We encourage both graduate and undergraduate students interested in audiology to join us! We meet once a week, with details on dates, times, and activities shared through our social media.
Our gatherings often feature fun prizes, food, and engaging activities.
