The Assistant Department Head met with ODA Senior Data Analyst Nathan Laursen in 2024 to review assessment and discuss changes and improvements to UG Program Learning Assessment.

For UG education, the ODA recommendations were (a) strengthening the Capstone Quiz and (b) examining IDEA student evaluations across selected objectives for relevant courses. For Fall 2025, both recommendations were followed. In addition, a separate program learning assessment was initiated for the new undergraduate SLPA Certificate.

In Spring, 2025, the Assistant Dept Head became a member of the new University Program Learning Assessment Committee. Committee members received initial training and practice on evaluating program learning assessments. Based on this experience, this undergraduate Program Learning Assessment was further revised and improved for Fall 2025, including adding the indicator of course grades by instructional emphasis.
