Smart Skies
Target Audience: Middle School and High School (especially those learning Pre-Algebra and Algebra)
Smart Skies is a site, developed by NASA, that contains air flight controller simulations where students get the opportunity to function as a controller by guiding airliners into LAX, while keeping a prescribed safety zone around each. Within Smart Skies, there are two modules: LineUp with Math and FlyBy Math.
LineUp with Math covers:
- Air traffic control simulator
- Pre-Algebra
- proportional reasoning
- distance-rate-time
FlyBy Math covers:
- Hands-on experiments
- Pre-Algebra
- counting and graphing
- distance-rate-time
- Algebra
- graphing linear equations
- distance-rate-time
