Standard RedCap Account

A Standard RedCap account is best for:

  • Research projects not involving Protected Health Information (PHI)
  • General surveys and data collection
  • Non-clinical research studies
  • Quality improvement projects that do not include PHI

Restrictions:

  • Cannot be used to store or process PHI or any sensitive health-related data
  • Must comply with university data security policies for research data

Requesting a regular REDCap Account:

Although REDCap is housed in the College of Education & Human Services at USU, it is available to any USU faculty, staff, and students. Faculty may also request accounts for collaborators outside of USU. Students must identify a faculty mentor through the request form below. Please allow 2-3 business days for your request to be processed.

  1. Request a user account.
  2. Follow the link in the email you receive to set your password.
  3. Login at https://redcap.cehs.usu.edu with your user name and password.

Users must delete their data from RedCap after their data collection is over. RedCap is not a data storage tool.
