The Utah Statesman has released its list of USU’s most influential people, and six of the top 10 have ties to CEHS
The Utah Statesman has released its list of USU’s most influential people, and six of the top 10 have ties to the Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services. They were nominated by students, faculty and staff, then selected by the Statesman’s editorial staff. You can access the full list on their website.
Kenneth Larsen
#1: Kenneth Larsen is an alumnus of the Instructional Technology and Learning Sciences department. He now works for Academic and Instructional Services at USU in the Center for Innovative Design and Instruction.
Travis Thurston
#2: Travis Thurston is a PhD student in the School of Teacher Education and Leadership who also works for the Center for Innovative Design and Instruction. He’s on Twitter, too: @travesty328.
Dr. Courtney Stewart
#3: Dr. Courtney Stewart is a former middle- and high school science and math teacher who is now an assistant professor in the School of Teacher Education and Leadership.
Dr. Ann Austin
#6: Dr. Ann Austin is a professor in the Family, Consumer, and Human Development department and also the director of the Center for Women and Gender at USU. She has received the 2013 Trailblazer award from the National Council for Research on Women for her work on social justice.
Dr. Sarah Brasiel

Dr. Beth Foley
#8: Dr. Beth Foley is the dean of CEHS and a passionate advocate for the college, its students and faculty. She has been at USU since 1993, and she has been our dean since 2011.
