Graduate Learning Objectives

 

The Listening and Spoken Language Deaf Education graduate training program is nationally accredited by the Council on Education of the Deaf. In this program, students gain skills and competencies to provide family-centered, evidence-based services for young children with hearing loss to develop and use listening and spoken language.

Upon graduation, students will demonstrate:

  1. Knowledge of theory, strategies, and principles of serving children who are DHH in both home- and center-based early intervention and classroom settings.
  2. Competencies in direct service delivery, demonstrating theory to practice principles and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  3. Knowledge of language acquisition and communication proficiency.
