General Information

A pre-professional degree program that provides students with academic preparation needed for graduate study in speech-language pathology, audiology, and deaf education.

The Main Campus BS/BA in Communicative Disorders is offered in the traditional face-to-face method of instruction. This allows students to interact with fellow students and faculty, observe and even participate in the clinic, engage in research and service activities, and take advantage of many other opportunities for learning and growth across campus.

Career Outlook

Students with bachelor’s degrees can go on to graduate professional programs to become certified speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and deaf educators. There is a high demand for this specialists in diverse health and education settings. Bachelor‘s degree graduates may also work as technicians or assistants in communication disorders. While specific requirements vary by state and setting, there are new opportunities for certification at this level too.
