Course Sequence

Below is the recommended sequence for COMD courses completed in 3 semesters. Courses are offered online during spring, summer and fall semesters. For the full 4-year, 120-credit online degree plan in the USU catalog, go to the course catalog.

Every semesterconsult with your academic advisor to be assured you have the correct courses in the correct sequence and matched to your individual program of study.

  • Degree-seeking students take a minimum of 13 COMD courses: 11 core courses and at least 2 Option courses
  • COMD courses should be taken in the sequence listed
  • Students may take more option courses based on their educational interests and career plans
  • All required courses are typically taught online every semester
  • Availability of option courses offered online vary by semester of availability
  • COMD courses are only open to students in the major unless specified as Open Major
  • In the course sequence below, CI = Communication Intensive for General Education requirements, OM = Open Major
  • To get your current textbook list go to the USU Bookstore.
  • All courses required for the COMD major must be taken for a letter grade
  • A minimum grade of C is required for COMD courses

Additional Required Courses

Students must take a set of General Education and Additional Core courses toward the COMD major. These courses include the foundational courses required by our national governing body of ASHA for SLP graduate school

General Education:
