Science Education Concentration

PhD in Education

The Science Education Concentration in the Doctoral Program in the School of Teacher Education and Leadership in the Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services is an advanced program designed to prepare science leaders for the following positions in science  education: tenure line faculty positions at research universities, teaching focused faculty positions at universities and colleges, leadership positions in state-level agencies or professional associations, school science leadership positions, and educational consulting. 

The Science Education Concentration consists of coursework that integrates science and education research classes with research methodological training. We seek to provided opportunities for students in university teaching and scholarly research. The program is designed for full time students but we welcome part time students as well. Courses are offered on a regular schedule so that students can complete the science education concentration in the doctoral program as part of their course of doctoral studies. All courses in the Science Education Concentration are offered both on the Logan campus and to distance students as well.
