Mathematics Education and Leadership

Overview

The Mathematics Education and Leadership Programs in the School of Teacher Education and Leadership in the Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services provide students with a variety of advanced study options in mathematics education at the graduate level. These programs provide students with opportunities to focus on enhancing their mathematical knowledge and mathematics education expertise and develop leadership skills for positions at all levels of mathematics teaching, learning, supervision, and research.

The Mathematics Education and Leadership Concentration in the Doctoral Program  prepares mathematics educators for academic positions as faculty at universities, leadership positions in state-level agencies or professional associations, and school mathematics leadership positions.

The MEd in Mathematics Education  is an option in the Master of Education Degree in Elementary Education, with the Elementary Mathematics Endorsement coursework serving as the major area of concentration in the degree program.

The 
Elementary Mathematics Teachers Academy offers online professional learning for elementary teachers focused on K-6 grade-specific mathematics topics. 

The new Elementary Math Specialist (EMS) Graduate Certificate offers online professionals learning for graduate students and professional to strengthen their mathematics content, pedagogy and leadership knowledge and expertise to serve as leaders in elementary mathematics.
