Biography

My experience working as a Presidential Doctoral Research Fellowship has been invaluable. It has provided me with opportunities to work with esteemed researchers and professors who continue to mentor me throughout my Ph.D. journey. Working alongside these accomplished individuals has been inspiring, pushing me to bring out my best. One standout experience was presenting at the University Council of Educational Administration (UCEA) conference alongside my mentor, Dr. Lavigne. Our study on classroom discourse patterns, teacher factors, and student outcomes has greatly influenced my current path and future aspirations. This experience has been more than just an avenue to exchange ideas and research interests; it has facilitated the creation of substantial professional connections within the education domain. Under Dr. Lavigne's mentorship, I actively contributed to crafting a grant proposal. Moreover, as a Presidential Doctoral Research Fellowship, I've taken on teaching responsibilities, engaged in projects I might not have otherwise been involved in, and collaborated with Kimberly Beck (Ph.D. candidate) on Expansive Framing data coding. This collaboration has led to a conference paper and we're in the final stages of completing another paper with Dr. Jessica Shumway, who has also been a valuable mentor. These experiences and networks gathered so far are focused on professional development and preparing me for a career in academia or industry.
