Academic Resources

Utah State University has a variety of resources and supports for their students. A few of them are listed below. You can also visit with your faculty advisor to find additional supports.

The USU Writing Center: Helps with writing projects and a variety of meeting styles and times are available. You can meet in person or via Zoom and if you just need written feedback but do not have time for a meeting, they can do that as well. Their website is: https://www.usu.edu/writing/index

The USU Library: As a student of USU, you have access to all the resources of the library. There are article databases that give you access to a variety of rehabilitation specific and counseling specific professional journals. We also have a designated librarian that can help you with your research (Niki Fullmer: niki.fullmer@usu.edu). You have access to streaming video resources like Alexander Street Academic Video Online (AVON over 64,00 videos on a variety of topics) and Psychotherapy.net (videos specific to counseling, psychotherapy and addiction). Many of your courses will supplement their instruction with videos from these databases.

The USU Disability Resource Center: The DRC works with individuals, faculty, and staff to ensure that students with disabilities can fully participate in USU courses, programs, services, and activities. If you have a disability and require coursework accommodations, we encourage you to follow up with the DRC as early and often as needed to ensure appropriate accommodations are provided. Even if you are just interested in what the DRC might be able to do, we encourage you to schedule an appointment and meet with a representative from the DRC. Their website is: https://www.usu.edu/drc/
