AuD - Admissions and Tuition

Application Deadline: January 15th

All applications are processed through the School of Graduate Studies at Utah State University.

  • Allow 3 weeks for the School of Graduate Studies to process your application.
  • Plan ahead to ensure all application components are received by the graduate school by the COMDDE deadline.

Prerequisites

We encourage students from a wide variety of educational backgrounds such as psychology, biology, linguistics, business, and others to apply. We strongly encourage students to explore the audiology field through observations of professionals prior to applying. As of November 1, 2021, we also require that all students admitted to the AuD program complete the following courses prior to beginning their graduate program in the fall of their first year of the AuD program: Anatomy and Physiology of Speech and Hearing (COMD 3800) and basic audiology (COMD 4700). All of these courses can be completed online in the summer prior to beginning the AuD program. For more information on these classes, see the COMDDE Non-Degree Seeking page.

Admission Requirements

Admission to the AuD graduate program is competitive.  The requirements listed below are the minimum requirements to apply. Top candidates will be invited for an interview.

  • GPA: 3.0 or better for last 60 credits or 2nd bachelor's degree
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • GRE scores are not required for admission

Proof of current immunizations is required prior to initiation of clinic coursework. A criminal background check is required at the time of admission to the program. A limited number of need-based application fee waivers are available for applicants during each admission cycle. Contact our Graduate Program Coordinator for more information.
