Biography

David Longhurst earned his doctoral degree in school psychology from Utah State University. He completed his APPIC-accredited/APA-approved psychology doctoral internship at Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District (in Texas) in Health Service Psychology. During his internship, David specialized in conducting evaluations for conditions such as Autism, ADHD, and anxiety and depressive disorders. David specializes in the assessment and identification of autism and related neurodevelopmental disabilities, school-medical collaboration, and parent trainings. His role at the Sorenson Center focuses on assessment of developmental disorders including Autism and other various mental health conditions. David’s goal is to establish a collaborative environment for individuals and families that is supportive and compassionate. He believes the assessment process should aid in addressing client concerns by identifying relevant diagnoses, while also providing beneficial resources in the community.
