Physical Education Coaching

A physical education/coaching minor offers courses that will complement your degree and give you opportunities to learn about Anatomy, Exercise Physiology, Fitness, as well as better ways to coach team sports. The minor can be adjusted to best fit teaching majors or non-teaching majors.

Admission Requirements

New freshmen, also, transfer students from all USU majors who have at least a 2.75 overall GPA, qualify to enter the Physical Education/Coaching Minor. Please note, this minor cannot be combined with any other Kinesiology Major.

Program Requirements

The minor consists of 27-32 total credits for students who are not seeking a teaching license. When students are seeking teacher licensure, the minor will consist of 34-39 total credits and requires an overall GPA of 3.0 to apply to the STEP program. 

There may be additional program requirements that students need to complete on a case-by-case basis. Meet with your advisor to discuss program requirements and your progress towards graduation.

All graduates, regardless of the type of degree, must satisfy University Studies general education and depth education requirements.

Additional Graduation Requirements:

Students who intend to use this as a teaching minor must have C’s or better in all content courses.
