Program Requirements

This program requires an overall GPA of 3.0 and a 3.0 GPA in major requirements for graduation.

Communications Literacy Requirement

In addition to satisfying the basic Communications Literacy (CL) general education requirement, students in this major must receive a grade of C+ or better in either ENGL 1010 or ENGL 2010. 

Mathematics Requirements

MATH 1051 or MATH 1050 requires a grade of C- or better. MATH 2010 and MATH 2020 require a grade of C or better. 

Preparation Anchor - ELED

Unless otherwise noted, these courses require a grade of B- or better for Licensure Lane Designation (LLD). Students not receiving these minimum grades may receive General Studies Lane Designation (GSLD).

Assessment, Curriculum, and Instruction Core

A grade of B- or better is required for those courses taken prior to Licensure Lane Designation (LLD) to receive LLD. A grade of B- or better is required for those courses taken after receiving LLD for LLD continuation.

Content Pedagogy Core (15 credits) (Licensure Lane Designation required) (B- or better)

Grade of B- or higher required for LLD continuation.

Methods Block

These courses must be taken together.

Professional Anchor Early Childhood

Credits in different categories of the Professional Anchor vary slightly for ECE majors and ELED/ECE dual majors.

Employment Options

Early Childhood Requirement

Must receive grade of B- or better for LLD continuation.

Additional Professional Anchor Requirement

Students in the dual ELED/ECE major should take 9 credits of the courses below, while students in the Early Childhood Education major should see their advisor to determine the additional number of credits needed to fulfill the 120 credit requirement.
