Bio

Dr. Reinbergs is passionate about helping young people and their families build lives they feel are worth living. He and his students share a commitment to supporting youth and families through providing compassionate, evidence-based care.

Originally from Massachusetts, Dr. Reinbergs earned his PhD in School Psychology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. During his time at UMass, he received specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) under Dr. Katherine Dixon-Gordon, a nationally recognized DBT clinician and researcher.

Dr. Reinbergs completed his internship and postdoctoral fellowship in the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District in Texas, where he worked directly with students and families in school settings. He later served as an assistant professor in Houston where he taught graduate courses and supervised psychology trainees at a university training clinic before relocating to Logan, Utah.

Dr. Reinbergs now leads the DBT team at the Sorensen Center’s psychology clinic and is an assistant professor in the psychology department at Utah State University. His research focuses on suicide, self-harm, and related challenges. He is dedicated to training others in high quality behavior therapies to make them more accessible to families—both in schools and clinical settings.
