Bio

Emily focuses on improving the lives of youth and their families through evidence-based treatment, tailored to suit the needs of each individual. Emily earned a B.S. in Psychology from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University followed by a M.S. in Counseling from Southern Connecticut State University. While Emily serves a broad array of youth and families with a diverse set of needs, her primary specialty is assisting families with children experiencing behavioral difficulties. Emily solidified her specialty in Parent Management Training (PMT) at the Yale Parenting Center, where she provided clinical care and coordinated research programs, under the mentorship of Alan Kazdin, Ph.D., ABPP. Prior to earning her master’s degree and specializing in PMT, Emily worked on a number of National Institute of Mental Health funded research programs to assist youth and families from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Her clinical research experience is grounded in evidence-based assessment and treatment for youth, with a focus on behavioral difficulties, anxiety, and early intervention. She is currently licensed as an Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the state of Utah.
