Information and Background

PALS is a longitudinal research study carried out at Utah State University that focuses on modifiable, lifestyle behaviors for the prevention of Alzheimer’s Disease and late-life cognitive decline. The study is based on years of research that has identified modifiable lifestyle factors associated with Alzheimer’s Disease risk. It provides assessments and information for participants on the connections between lifestyle behaviors and Alzheimer’s Disease in 11 domains (see below).

Participants attend an annual health fair to complete questionnaires and measurements in the 11 domains and receive information and suggestions to improve their functioning. The date of the first prevention health fair was June 2024, and future health fairs are planned on an annual basis. New and current participants are welcome and encouraged to attend each health fair.

This website provides information on each of the 11 domains covered at the prevention health fairs, and provides resources and a venue for participants to share their experiences.
