Early Childhood Certificate

The Early Childhood Certificate of Proficiency is designed for students seeking to increase their knowledge and skills in working with young children. Coursework covers infancy and childhood development, introductory early childhood education and theories, as well as opportunities for practicum experience working with young children. The elective options available allow students to customize their learning based on their professional interests. The content of the certificate addresses the various areas in which professionals may be working with children: family contexts, childcare, child welfare, or early childhood education.

This certificate can be completed as a stand-alone option. It also can be used towards a bachelor’s degree in HDFS or Early Childhood Education.
