Carol Godfrey Hancock is a 2023 graduate in the Utah State University HDFS program. Her journey to choosing this degree began with a desire to find a career in which she could work with people. She discovered that with a HDFS degree, she could pursue a wide variety of career paths.
Carol currently works at an elementary school as a Resource Instructional Assistant. She spends one on one time with students who need individualized support in their learning, assignments, and behavioral and social skills. Carol tributes the HDFS classes she took and her practicum experiences as pivotal factors that prepared her for this position.
When giving advice to other degree seeking students, Carol suggests that they research the opportunities that a degree in HDFS can bring. The opportunities are more diverse than one may initially think. An HDFS degree can also be a strong base for future graduate programs as well. If you enjoy working with people an HDFS degree can help you find the path.
