Iggy Peck, Architect

Synopsis
Young Iggy Peck has a natural love of building and architecture, and designs projects such as: A tower made of diapers, a sandbox sphinx, a chapel made of apples. His parents encourage his natural interest in architecture, but his second-grade teacher is less enthusiastic about Iggy building in her class. One day, the class runs into trouble on a field trip, and it’s up to Iggy to devise a solution. This text encourages kids to follow their dreams, and the illustrations demonstrate how just about any household object can make for great building materials. Specifics of architecture and engineering aren’t discussed, but the more technical scale sketches towards the end of the book may inspire readers to learn more.
