Teena Young teaches the preschool class at Sound Beginnings. She graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor's degree in Audiology. Later, she graduated from Utah State University with a master’s degree in Communicative Disorders and Deaf Education and is licensed for both preschool special education and deaf education. She is currently working toward LSLS certification through AG Bell Academy. Teena taught preschool in a mainstream setting for several years prior to joining the team at Sound Beginnings. She loves to incorporate listening activities, music, and movement into the classroom. She plans play-based learning opportunities which enable children with hearing loss to develop listening and language skills as they explore the world around them. Teena and her husband have four children and have lived in Cache Valley for 13 years. As a family they enjoy playing in the backyard together or exploring the beautiful mountains.
