Psi Chi

Psi Chi is the International Honor Society in Psychology, founded in 1929 for the purpose of encouraging, stimulating, and maintaining excellence in scholarship and advancing the science of psychology. Membership is open to graduate and undergraduate students of psychology who are making the study of psychology one of their major interests and who meet the minimum qualifications. Psi Chi is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS) and is an affiliate of the American Psychological Association (APA) and the American Psychological Society (APS).

Psi Chi functions as a federation of chapters located at more than 890 senior colleges and universities. A National Council, composed of psychologists who are elected by the chapters, guides the affairs of the organization and sets policy with the approval of the chapters.

What do we do?

Well we have fun at socials, conduct research, are successful students, and like to be involved. We will try to meet about once a week to talk about research and see how each other is doing. We are professors, professionals, and students that have proven we can excel in academics.

Ashlyn Coulam

Psi Chi President

My name is Ashlyn! I am currently a junior at USU majoring in Psychology and minoring in Human Development & Family Studies and Communications. I enjoy my studies and plan to pursue a master's degree and career in a psychology-related field. I am passionate about understanding human development and behavior. It's fascinating to me! When I'm not in class or doing homework, I love to sing, read, eat yummy food, watch pretty sunsets, go on drives, and spend quality time with family and friends. I have loved being a part of Psi Chi, as it has provided me with opportunities to connect with peers and faculty who share my love for psychology. It has also helped me to enhance my leadership and communication skills. I highly recommend getting involved!

Lacey Cintron

Membership Coordinator

My name is Lacey Cintron and I am the membership coordinator for Psi Chi. This is my second-year pursuing Psychology at Utah State University. I also write for the Utah Statesman. I hope to one day open my own practice as a clinical social worker but am still exploring other psychology related fields.

I am a senior at USU studying psychology with a minor in disability studies. I hope to get a masters in rehabilitation counseling after I graduate in the spring. I enjoy Psi Chi as it has helped me to meet other people interested in psychology and collaborate with fellow students.
