Registered Nurse (BSN Pre-licensure)

This four-year baccalaureate of science in nursing degree program with four semesters of pre-requisite coursework and four semesters of nursing courses teaches students how to manage the care of patients in a variety of healthcare settings. Students learn to become outstanding nurses as they care for patients under the supervision of nursing faculty, educate patients, families and communities, administer medications and treatments, and promote health and wellness.

Curriculum and Career Options

Students enrolled in the BSN program have a curriculum of study that includes pre-nursing courses in anatomy and physiology, microbiology, pathophysiology, nutrition, and human development. Once admitted into the BSN program, students develop close ties with others in their cohort as they study health assessment, nursing management of care, pharmacology, population health, family nursing, evidence-based healthcare, healthcare informatics, leadership and management, professionalism, ethics, and care competencies and skills. Graduates are prepared to take the NCLEX-RN exam for licensure. Upon passing the licensure exam, graduates qualify for positions as entry-level BSN-prepared registered nurses.
