Curriculum and Career Options

Students enrolled in the Practical Nursing Certificate program have a curriculum of study that includes medical-surgical, mental health, and family health nursing, pharmacology, and basic nursing skills. See full course details for the Practical Nursing Certificate in the University Catalog. Graduates are prepared to take the *NCLEX-PN® exam for licensure. Upon passing, graduates can qualify for positions as entry-level licensed practical nurses (LPNs).

Continue Your Education

Students completing USU’s PN program may continue on to become a pre-licensure registered nurse and earn an Associate of Applied Science in Nursing degree and be eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN® Nursing licensure examination.
