Biography

I am a Ph.D. student specializing in Pathokinesiology in the Disability Disciplines Doctoral program. As a researcher, I am mainly working in the Dennis G. Dolny Movement Research Clinic. As an instructor, I am currently teaching the ‘Anatomical Kinesiology’ class. The physiological and biomechanics assessment of athletes and older adults interests me.

As a second nature, I relish challenges. Challenges always stir up my passion and drive of research. Personally, I want to spend my whole life having greater understanding of the mechanisms of training adaptations. During my Ph.D., I would like to examine how to translate functional motor adaptability in water for practical applications on land.

My academic career started in South Korea, my homeland. It took me a long time to set out my Ph.D journey in the states. I am truly happy and proud of myself conducting aquatic research at Utah State University. My enthusiasm outside of my academic pursuits is basketball. I normally play basketball in my free time, which is my all-time sport. Playing basketball brings back a lot of memories about determination and team efforts in my school days. I like to incorporate these two characteristics in the lab.
