Biography
I grew up in Cache Valley and attended Utah State for my undergraduate degree. After I graduated in 2009, I moved to Salt Lake City and completed my Master’s of Public Health (MPH) degree at the University of Utah. My educational experience was fantastic. I had the opportunity to work abroad while completing my Master’s program conducting water pollution surveillance in Asia. Through this experience, I got to know interesting people and made great friends.
After graduating, I worked for the Davis County Health Department as a Health Educator. One of my favorite job duties was teaching youth about the dangers of tobacco. I enjoyed working as the intern coordinator at Davis County as well, assisting graduating college seniors through practical work experience.
In 2018, I relocated to the TriCounty Health Department in Uintah County and worked for a number of years as the Health Promotion Division Director. Working in a rural health department during COVID was an exciting (albeit very stressful) experience.
I recently had an opportunity to return to Cache Valley for work and am excited to be back at Utah State University as an instructor.
I currently teach HEP 3800 (Health Services Administration), HEP 4000 (Health Care Systems), and HEP 3200 (Consumer Health) for the Kinesiology and Health Science.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my four children and beautiful wife (with whom I achieved on eof the greatest educational accomplishments of all time - becoming a "True Aggie").
