Biography
Hi! My name is Julia Freeman and I am from Mesa, Arizona. I grew up in a big volleyball family and played and reffered the sport alongside my four sisters. Before moving up to Logan, my mom introduced me to coaching and I've never looked back! I teach using techniques and ideas from Gold Medal Squared (GMS), which is a training system developed by Dr. Carl McGown, a four-time gold medal winning coach for our USA Volleyball team. Our USA teams as well as several top college programs use GMS ideas, including USU's very own head coach, Rob Nielson. This means we'll be using some of the same techniques and drills used on the court at the Estes!
Outside of coaching, I am studying Cellular Biology, I enjoy being active, I love anything crafty (sewing, glasswork, scrapbooking, etc), and I absolutely adore my three dogs! Here at Utah State, I've been involved with intramurals, our Club Volleyball team, and the Advanced PE Volleyball class, so I'm really excited for this next semester with the Beginning and Intermediate classes! Go Aggs!
