Biography

I started my yoga journey as a student here at Utah State while completing my bachelor’s degree in chemistry & psychology. While I was searching for a way to relieve stress, I had no idea that it would change my life. After spending a couple of years focusing on a daily practice, I wanted to share the inspiring mental & physical benefits of yoga with others. I completed my 200-hour RYT certification and instantly fell in love with teaching.

In 2016, I was accepted into the Kinesiology, Health & Human Movement graduate program at USU. Wanting to further academic research explaining the benefits of yoga, I completed my thesis on the effects of a yoga intervention on cognitive function in older adults. Following graduation, the abstract was published in the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) and was given the opportunity to present the research at the Symposium on Yoga Research at Kripalu.

As a life-long student in this practice, I have studied under a variety of teachers around the world exploring yoga styles such as Ashtanga, Kundalini, Iyengar, yin, restorative, and various types of meditation. In my personal practice & teaching, I like to incorporate the diversity this practice has to offer while honoring the history & philosophy behind it. I truly believe that yoga is a tool for anyone and everyone to help bring a sense of balance, wholeness, and presence to the body and mind. I currently teach PE-1057.
