Biography

I am a New Mexican native and graduated from BYU with a degree in Spanish.  Our family moved to Logan and I became the director of an Information, Referral and Crisis Intervention Hotline based on the USU campus.  I was later accepted into the School Counseling Masters program at USU.  After graduation, I was hired as a school counselor for Cache County School District,  working with alternative highschool students and elementary students over the course of my career.  During my tenure as a school counselor, I occasionally  taught psychology and dance classes at USU.  I have a background in dance, yoga, Qigong and Tai Chi Chuan.

I welcome students to join LAP 1410 - Tai Chi Chuan, in HPER room 211.  This class is aligned with classical Tai Chi Chuan concepts of exploring a deeply internal level of calm and relaxation.   This simple, natural movement is essential to the choreography and action of the first 3rd of the Taichi form.  Investigating where we hold stress, how to release unnecessary tension and deepen our understanding of the body is a vital part of Tai Chi Chuan.  Continued practice is known to benefit  health and longevity.
