Biography

I have been the Recreation Director for the city of Smithfield since 2000.  I have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in my career and the education that I received at Utah State.  When I started with Smithfield we were a very small department.  We evolved into an outstanding department within our city.  Although we are still a relatively small community (population wise) we are blessed with big city amenities.  We manage a 55,000 sq. foot recreation center along with 3 other buildings in the city.  We are also blessed with world class sports & leisure parks.  We are known as Utah's Health City!  I am CPRP certified and a member of NRPA and URPA.

Most meaningful thing leared or experienced during my time as a student:

I loved my experience at Utah State University and will always be an Aggie.  I think my most meaningful experiences were the friends and relationships that I formed while attending USU.

Advice for current students /recent graduates:

I would advise students to get involved with the wonderful parks and recreation agencies that we have here in Cache Valley.  Anytime spent volunteering or working for one of these departments while attending school will certainly benefit you when seeking that full time position upon graduation.
