Biography

I am a Professor in the Department of HDFS. I specialize in teaching and researching family economic and financial issues, including household debt, saving, and credit use decisions and relevant financial education and policy issues.

Teaching Interests

My teaching interests are consumer and family economic issues, consumer credit problems, and family finances across the life span. In my graduate course, I provide students with the foundation, resources, and research skills necessary to design and analyze family economic research.

Research Interests

Current projects in family finance area focus on types of debt, financial stressors, financial behaviors, and financial well-being among young adults during the COVID-19 pandemic. I am also interested in research related to family-owned businesses; Currently, I am working on a project that investigates how couple-owned family businesses balance business and family demands and how this is related to their business success.
