I’m a doctoral student in the combined Clinical/Counseling specialization supervised by Dr. Maria Kleinstaeuber. My current research interests include the intersections between mental and physical health, focusing on somatic symptom disorders, chronic pain, addiction, and emotional regulation. I received my bachelor’s degree in art and psychology from Whitman College and taught art and English as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Malaysia. Prior to USU, I was a research analyst at the University of Utah’s Center on Mindfulness and Integrative Healthcare Intervention Development. My work involved the psychophysiological mechanisms and outcomes of mindfulness-based interventions in the treatment of chronic pain and opioid misuse/abuse. Outside of my studies I love to camp, mountain bike, ski, raft, and adventure outdoors.
