Biography

I am a Professor of Psychology and am currently serving as the Executive Director of the Sorenson Legacy Foundation Center for Clinical Excellence. I earned my BA from the College of William and Mary and my MA and PhD from the University of South Carolina. I have been in the Psychology Department at USU since 1995 and currently serve on the faculty of the School Psychology PhD specialization and EdS program. I served as program director of the School Psychology specialization from 1997-2009 and as Psychology Department Head from 2008-2018. I have been on USU's Institutional Review Board since 2001 and served as Chair from 2004 to 2008. My research and teaching interests are in the area of child behavior problems including parent/child interactions. I supervise students completing applied experiences with the Up to 3 (Early Intervention) program and have previously supervised numerous graduate students who completed clinical practicum hours in the Psychology Department's clinic providing intervention services to children and families in the community. I am is also interested in professional issues in school psychology and co-authored a book widely used in graduate introduction to school psychology courses (School Psychology for the 21st Century: Foundations and Practices).
