Biography

I am an Assistant Professor in the School Counseling program at Utah State University. I am committed to integrating various psychological and counseling theories into school counseling programs. My primary objective is to gain a deeper understanding of student behaviors in K-12 educational settings. For instance, I am currently engaged in research that aims to understand the students’ dysfunctional behaviors through the application of heuristic concepts. Furthermore, I have a strong interest in expanding the scope of both supervision and counseling through a diversified lens. This approach includes integrating perspectives from both the United States and the international community. Aligned with this focus, I advocate for underrepresented and minoritized populations in the State of Utah and actively incorporate multiculturalism into the school counseling curriculum. I aspire to contribute to the creation of inclusive and safe educational environments where all students can flourish and realize their fullest potential.
