Biography

I graduated with a BS in biochemistry and am now working on a PhD in neuroscience. My research interests include studying the underlying biochemical causes of psychiatric diseases, especially mood disorders. Currently, I am studying depression in a transgenic mouse model to see if we can see differences in the brains of mice based on whether they are susceptible or resilient to depressive symptoms. We are looking at differences based on which genes the mouse has and also what differences are found between males and females. I am hoping to continue studying depression and other psychiatric diseases throughout my research career.
