Biography

Hi there. I am a doctoral student in Dr. Melanie Domenech Rodriguez's Culture and Mental Health lab pursuing a blended program of study in the Psychology and Sociology departments. My research interests lie at the intersection of minority mental health and public policy. I’m also interested in creating literary, visual, auditory, and performance art. Before USU, I was coordinating a mental health and criminal justice focused longitudinal behavioral and brain study at Columbia University and the New York State Psychiatric Institute where we were looking at health and decision-making in at-risk South Bronx adolescents with parental counts of incarceration. Before that, I was studying at Sarah Lawrence College in New York and the University of Bristol in England. Before that, I was a kid in Dhaka, Bangladesh. On sunny days I enjoy exploring the long mirages of green terra and blue mountains of Logan with my husband and our cat Kit Cat, and on rainy days I enjoy teaching them Bengali.
