Complete Application

  • Complete a Utah State University (USU) Admissions Application and be accepted (if not currently enrolled or returning from a Leave of Absence). There is a $50 application fee.
    • Submit all official college transcripts (if transfer student); or high school or GED verification to USU Admissions.
    • TOEFL score is required for non-native English-speaking students.

Complete Prerequisites

Prerequisite requirements:
  • 2.67 overall GPA
  • RN courses completed with a grade of B- or better
  • Three course attempts for any one course will be accepted, with a maximum of 10 total repeats, including transfer or equivalent courses
  • Applicants must have completed an AAS/ADN RN program in an accredited program approved by the US Department of Education

Complete the online RN to BSN Application

  • Submit copy of receipt for non-refundable $30.00 application fee in PDF format.
  • Submit a copy of your current, unencumbered RN license. If currently enrolled in an AAS/ADN nursing program, please submit copy of RN license by the first day of your first semester in the USU RN to BSN program
  • Submit information on where and when you completed your AAS/ADN RN degree
  • Submit a personal statement, 150 words or less, double spaced, 12-point font in PDF format
    • Provide a brief description of your purpose for pursuing your BSN and your goals with completion of the degree
  • Submit a professional resume in PDF format that includes total years of RN and relevant healthcare experience

Decision

Letters of acceptance/non-acceptance will be sent 6-8 weeks after application close date.

Accepting Position

If you accept a position in the RN to BSN program, you will be required to abide by certain policies and procedures found in the Student Handbook.

Upon Admission

Scholarship Application

Apply for scholarships prior to the May 1 deadline for fall semester entry, and prior to the October 24 deadline for spring entry students.

Meet Pre-program Requirements

For fall semester start students, your pre-program requirements are due November 15. For spring semester start students, your pre-program requirements are due April 15. Full instructions are provided with your acceptance letter:
  • Submit a copy of your current/unencumbered Registered Nursing license.
