Ronnie Detrich, Ph.D.
Dr. Detrich has been engaged in systems change for much of his career (50 years). The change work has been through various efforts. He has led hundreds of professional development trainings, been part of a state-wide task force to improve services for children with autism, served as external consultant change leader for a district operating under a consent decree with the Federal Department of Justice, and served in leadership positions in several agencies in which he was responsible for the quality of services provided by the organization. He was clinical director for the Spectrum Center who served students with the most significant behavioral problems in the San Francisco Bay area. He is frequently and widely sought out for his behavioral knowledge and expertise. His work has been characterized as pragmatic and emphasizing systemic change.

David Forbush, Ph.D.
Dr. Forbush has engaged in systems evaluation and systems change work for nearly his entire career (25 years), and at different levels/settings in education (e.g., LEA leader, pre-service trainer, statewide professional development trainer). Dr. Forbush looks through the lens of “performance engineering” and implementation science in this work, and has successfully participated in a variety of systems changes, each one providing additional clarity to the salient inputs of systems change. Importantly, extensive amounts of this work focused on student behavior, and educator and systems behavior. Dr. Forbush has worked as an assessment specialist, school psychologist, Title I coordinator, special education director, project director – federally funded projects, pre-service trainer, associate director, and director of a State-Wide professional development system.

David Forbush

Katie Harris, Ph.D., BCBA-D, LBA
Katie has over twenty years of experience working with children and adults with disabilities in a variety of environments. Most of her experience is with children with autism and severe disabilities; she has served as a behavior specialist, special educator, coach, special education coordinator, and adjunct professor. Most recently, she worked as an implementation specialist for the Utah Professional Development Network where she delivered trainings throughout the state on the topic of addressing challenging behavior. Katie has also consulted with districts and provided trainings internationally to build capacity for behavior specialists/autism specialists and to set up classrooms that support empirically validated methodologies. She earned her Ph.D. at Utah State University in the Department of Special Education & Rehabilitation with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis. She continues to be incredibly passionate about helping teachers effectively assess and treat challenging behavior through the science of applied behavior analysis.

Christine Manning, M.Ed.
Ms. Manning has a master’s degree in Special Education and is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).  She has a passion for helping administrators, teachers, and parents work effectively with children who have challenging behaviors using evidence-based interventions. She worked at Spectrum Academy in North Salt Lake for 10 years, specializing in assisting children with autism. While there, she worked as a Paraprofessional, Teacher, Assessment Director, and Principal. She has her Wilson Reading Instructor Endorsement, a tier three reading intervention program, which she successfully implemented at the elementary school. Christine is a certified practitioner and instructor in PCM (Professional Crisis Management). This program incorporates prevention and de-escalation strategies to be used by trained practitioners, as well as hands-on techniques for behavior teams (to be used as a last resort). She is a certified instructor in the Behavior Tools program, which teaches participants how to strengthen relationships, avoid coercion and use appropriate reinforcement strategies to circumvent challenging behaviors. Christine had the opportunity to work for the Utah State Board of Education (USBE), as an education and behavior specialist in the special education department. These experiences have allowed her to fulfill her life-long desire to help children. She currently works as a consultant for Utah schools and enjoys helping improve student outcomes.
