PALS Research Study


What you should know about the PALS Research Study:

  • Prevent Alzheimer’s for Life Study (PALS) participants must be age 55 or older.
  • Participation in the study is on a first come, first served basis, with a maximum of 100 participants.
  • You may attend the health fair without participating in the PALS Study. Research participation is optional and voluntary.
  • To complete the one-day PALS research study, you must visit all 12 designated PALS research booths. (Note: Please anticipate spending between one and two hours completing all of the PALS assessments and activities.)
  • As a research participant, you will receive tests and screenings on your health history, overall physical activity levels, cognition, hearing, carotenoid levels, walking speed, grip strength, balance and coordination, stress levels, and sleep patterns.
  • Participants who complete the study will receive a $20 gift voucher.
  • You will be contacted in three to six months to complete a brief follow-up survey.

From North Logan:
From Main Street in Logan, turn left onto 1400 North.
Travel east on 1400 N and turn right onto 800 East (Lars Hansen Dr).
Travel south on 800 East onto the USU campus.
Turn left at 700 North (Aggie Blvd).
Turn right into the Aggie Blue Parking Terrace.

From South Logan:
From Main Street in Logan, turn right (east) onto 400 North.
Turn left onto 600 East.
Traveling north, drive one block to the traffic circle at 500 N. Exit the traffic circle onto 500 N going east. Old Main Hill will be straight ahead.
Turn left onto 700 East. Go up the hill and around the curve. The road will now be Aggie Blvd.
Turn right at the Big Blue Parking Terrace.

From Logan Canyon:
Travel west on Highway 89.
Turn right onto 1200 East.
Turn left onto Aggie Blvd/700 North.
Travel approximately one quarter mile and turn left into the Big Blue Parking Terrace.
