Biography

Dr. Miller’s primary research addresses issues at the intersection of racial, spatial, and cultural inequality. Her current project examines the disparate impacts of urban transformation on Black-owned and white-owned small businesses in Detroit, MI. Additionally, Dr. Miller’s interest in the inequalities embedded in organizations have led to projects examining the intersectional nature of inequality in the academic workspace and how art, architecture, and spatial arrangement shape REM students’ construction of spatial meanings and sense of belonging on campus.
