Biography

Dr. Han earned her Ph.D. in Informatics from the University of California, Irvine. Her research lies at the intersection of AI, educational technology, and human–computer interaction, with a focus on designing and evaluating AI-powered learning systems for children through design-based research. Working closely with teachers, students, and families through participatory and co-design approaches, she examines how educational technologies can support meaningful learning experiences. Dr. Han has published in leading HCI and learning sciences venues, including CHI, IDC, ISLS, CLS, JLS, IJCCI, EAIT, and I&LS. She leads the StoryAI project and has received the NSF VITAL Challenge Prize (2023) and the UC Irvine Proof-of-Product Grant (2024).
