Doctoral Assistantship in Web and Social Media 

The Department of Instructional Technology & Learning Sciences (ITLS) at Utah State University invites applications for an assistantship in web and social media which comes with four years of funding. The successfully chosen student will receive full tuition and four years of stipend support at 12 months/year, coupled with a commitment to run and engage in research about the web and social media presence of the ITLS department. Students will also be asked to teach an information literacy class at the undergraduate level one time each year. This assistantship is a major commitment averaging 20 hours/week, and it is not possible to complete it while also holding down a full-time job.  

The ITLS Ph.D. program is nationally and internationally recognized for its research related to design and learning.  It prepares scholars for positions in universities and research organizations.  Faculty areas of specialization include problem-centered pedagogies, gaming and mobile learning, learning through Making, STEM education, instructional and interface design, learning analytics, and engaging underserved populations through technology, communities of practice, and information literacy among many others. For more detail about the research of individual faculty, please visit https://cehs.usu.edu/itls/people/faculty
