Science & Engineering Academy

Edith Bowen is excited to offer an after-school Science and Engineering Academy for all students participating in this year's fair. We'll have four sessions and meet on Tuesdays at 3:30 - 4:30, starting on Tuesday January 27th.

This year's Academy will be very DIFFERENT from last year's Academy. We are excited to announce that this year we will be having USU Mentors at our Academy leading students through a project. Our mentors are USU grad students or USU instructors who will bring a project to our Academy that is in the area of science they study or teach. When you register your child, you will select a project they would like to work on for their science project this year. Our mentors will be working with students in four sessions, then if your child would like help putting their board together or help preparing to be interviewed by judges there will be a bonus session on Tuesday, February 24 where they will work with Elisha Helpingstine to finalize the project.

As with year's before EBLS will provide all the materials the students need to complete their project! We are so grateful to Dr. Justis for allowing us to utilize the school, its space, materials, expertise and his help finding volunteers at USU who study/work with the same things your child(ren) will be studying for their projects.

After you register you will receive an email to confirm your registration and full of all the information you need. The rest of the communication will be through ParentSquare.

IF you register your child for the Academy, it is IMPERATIVE that your child attend all four sessions, it will not be possible to complete the project without attending each session.  *Please note that the registration for the Academy is DIFFERENT from the S&E Fair registration.
