2025 Information

Registration Begins: Wednesday, January 8, 2025 Registration Form
Registration Deadline:
Tuesday, February 18, 2025
Science & Engineering Fair: Friday, February 28, 2025 in the EBLS Auditorium
2025 Guidelines

Please note that students need to register BEFORE starting their experiments or developing the prototype for their projects. You must be registered to participate!

Look for updates from the PTA on your Parent Square account. If you have additional questions, please reach out to Elisha Helpingstine.

All the students who register and compete in the EBLS Science & Engineering Fair will be able to enjoy a movie and a delicious breakfast the morning of the Fair.

We appreciate our dedicated parent volunteers who make the science fair a reality.

Science & Engineering Academy

Join the Science & Engineering Academy, on Tuesdays at EBLS to receive step-by-step tutoring with your project. We will help you with any and all steps of your project. The Academy will start on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 3:30 p.m. All students must be registered for the Academy in order to attend as this will allow us to have enough volunteers to help the students. Each session will focus on a specific step of the process.

Science & Engineering Academy Registration YOUR STUDENT MUST BE REGISTERED FOR THE ACADEMY TO ATTEND!!!

*Please note that the registration for the Academy is DIFFERENT from the S&E Fair registration.

Science Project Steps

1 Ask a Question. 2 Do Background Research. 3 Construct a Hypothesis. 4 Test with an Experiment. 5 Procedure Working? If no, go to step 4. If yes, continue. 6 Analyze Data and Draw Conclusions. If results align partially or not at all with hypothesis then experimental data becomes background research for new/future project. Ask new question, form new hypothesis, experiment again! If results align with hypothesis, then continue. 7 Communicate Results.

Engineering Project Steps

1 Define the Problem. 2 Do Background Research. 3 Specify Requirements. 4 Brainstorm, Evaluate, and Choose Solution. 5 Develop and Prototype Solution. 6 Test Solution. If solution meets requirements partially or not at all, then based on results and data, make design changes, prototype, test again, and review new data. Go back to step 4, 5, or 6. If solution meets requirements, then continue. 7 Communicate Results.
