2024 Information

Registration Begins: Monday, January 1, 2024 Registration Form
Registration Deadline:
Tuesday, February 13, 2024
Science & Engineering Fair: Friday, February 23, 2024 in the EBLS Auditorium
2024 Guidelines

Please note that students need to register BEFORE starting their experiments or developing the prototype for their projects. You must be registered to participate!

Look for updates from the PTA on your ParentSquare account. If you have additional questions, please reach out to Elisha Helpingstine.

All the students who register and compete in the EBLS Science & Engineering Fair will be able to enjoy a movie and a delicious breakfast the morning of the Fair.

We appreciate our dedicated parent volunteers who make the science fair a reality.

NEED HELP finding a project? Testing your experiment? Building your prototype? Making your board?

Join the Academy and receive step by step help from our USU science and engineering community.*

We will help you with any and all steps of your project. The Academy will start on Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 3:30 p.m.

Academy Registration Link Must be registered to attend as this will allow us to have enough volunteers to help the students.

*Mr. Justis will not be running the Academy this year, but he will help us find volunteers from the university to help.

Science Project Steps

1 Ask a Question. 2 Do Background Research. 3 Construct a Hypothesis. 4 Test with an Experiment. 5 Procedure Working? If no, go to step 4. If yes, continue. 6 Analyze Data and Draw Conclusions. If results align partially or not at all with hypothesis then experimental data becomes background research for new/future project. Ask new question, form new hypothesis, experiment again! If results align with hypothesis, then continue. 7 Communicate Results.

Engineering Project Steps

1 Define the Problem. 2 Do Background Research. 3 Specify Requirements. 4 Brainstorm, Evaluate, and Choose Solution. 5 Develop and Prototype Solution. 6 Test Solution. If solution meets requirements partially or not at all, then based on results and data, make design changes, prototype, test again, and review new data. Go back to step 4, 5, or 6. If solution meets requirements, then continue. 7 Communicate Results.
