Graduate Student Training

One of the Psychology Department commitments in education is to create well-round, educated, and diverse students. Our students are highly committed to advanced education in their fields as well as ethics and self-care. Education is received through traditional means including course work and lectures. Students also receive education through frequent department programming and mentorship relationships with department faculty.

Students are expected to attend two colloquium per semester and are invited to participate in other programming including annual Allies on Campus Workshops, lunch and learn meetings on various topics including preparing for internship applications and managing your finances, department socials, and workshops including the Society of Indian Psychologists Convention.

Attending department programming and events offers students and faculty from across specializations to connect and network on topics in and outside of their fields. To encourage the building of relationships and department culture, the community has biannual socials with fun themes including a salsa cook-off and s’mores challenge.
