EEJ CEHS Council 2016-17
Teigan Beck was raised in Pocatello, ID and is the oldest of four children. She graduated with honors from Pocatello High School in 2011 and is currently a senior in the Communicative Disorders program at Utah State University. She is also minoring in both FCHD and Spanish. As a fourth generation Aggie, she loves USU and all its traditions. She loves the town of Logan, enjoying the outdoors, and reading a good book. She also loves being involved and is currently part of NSSLHA, SAA, NRHH, Service Learning Scholars and USUSA. She is thrilled to be the 2016-2017 Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services Senator and loves the College of Education and Human Services because of the opportunities to lead and serve that it offers. This year she plans to involve even more students, staff and faculty in service projects and leadership opportunities. Go Aggies!
Executive Vice President
Trent is a senior at Utah State and is majoring in human movement science hoping to get in to medical school. He loves to play sports when he is working or going to school but is a soccer junkie at heart. His favorite thing about Utah State is the many opportunities that it has given him to be involved and better himself.
Marketing VP & FCHD Representative
Whitney is a FCHD Major with an emphasis in child development. Whitney loves Utah State and loves being in school. She also loves sports and cooking and cleaning. She thinks college is the best and thinks getting involved makes it even better.
Academic VP & Psychology
Chandler is double majoring in Health Science and Psychology. He chose psychology because of its multidimensional nature and its focus on learning about and interacting with people. Classes of the psychology department offer multiple classes that provide insight into the behavioral, social, developmental, and biological components that contribute to the human experience. What drew Chandler to Utah State was how student-centered it is. Utah State offers students multiple opportunities to participate in research and leadership. These opportunities are helpful resources that are preparing students not only for graduate school but multiple career pathways.
Wynter grew up on a ranch in Malta, Idaho and is a senior here at USU. She plans on pursuing a Master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology in hopes of someday working with preschool age children. She is a lover of sunshine, grapes, sports, and being in the water. She is excited to be a part of this year’s council and ready for the school year ahead!
Kinesiology & Heath Science Representative (KSL)
Cody Davis has been at Utah State for 2 years. He is dual majoring in human movement science and business administration. After reviewing his bachelor degrees, he plans to continue his education by receiving his doctorate in physical therapy. Cody enjoys almost any outdoor activity. He is excited about the opportunity to serve on the student council.
Programming VP & Teacher Education and Leadership Representative
Deidra is a sophomore at USU majoring in Elementary Education. She loves learning and is so excited to become a teacher! Originally from Centerville, Utah, Deidra finds herself missing Target and her favorite Italian restaurant. She is loves donuts, Instagram and Utah State!
Christina Watts is from Montana. She received her bachelor’s and master’s in mathematics at Montana State University and is currently pursuing her doctorate in Mathematics Education at Utah State University. She conducts research with the Virtual Manipulatives Research Group at USU and works with the STARS! GEAR UP group. In her free time, her interests include reading, sports, cooking, crafts, and science!
Kristy is from Orem, Utah. She received her Bachelors in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University and her Masters of Education from Southern Utah University. After teaching in Utah public schools for 12 years, she is currently pursuing her doctorate in Mathematics Education and Leadership from Utah State University. She is a mother of five and enjoys swimming, ballroom dancing, reading sci-fi and fantasy, biking, hiking, and cooking. She is very excited to be involved with this year’s CEHS council.
Sierra Southwick is a senior pursuing a degree in Communicative Disorders and Deaf Education. She is from South Jordan, Utah. Sierra studied at Southern Utah University for two years before transferring to Utah State University. She has many different passions, including music, swimming, Spanish, teaching, and the outdoors. She loves Utah State and hopes to help other students become more involved while studying here at USU. Go Aggies!
Erin is originally from Montana, but spent her high school years in Idaho Falls, Idaho. She is studying nursing and is planning on attending the new nursing school at Utah State in the Fall of 2017. Her dream is to become a nurse practitioner and become involved in Doctors Without Borders. She spent a year and a half doing service in Washington DC. She loves anything outdoors, especially hiking, camping, hunting, and fishing. She is all about serving others and is excited to help promote the nursing program and represent all the pre-nursing students at Utah State.
Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation (SPED)
McKenzie is a senior majoring in elementary and special education. After graduating with her bachelor's degree she hopes to earn a master's degree in applied behavior analysis. She is married to the most funny and handsome man on the planet and loves spending time with him. She loves to laugh, watch movies, read books, lay in the grass, and go to the public library in her pajamas. She hopes to make a difference this year serving on the council for the College of Education and Human Services.
Megan is a Freshman here at USU. After graduating from Lone Peak High School this past year, she is excited to start a new chapter as a college student. She chose Exercise Science as her emphasis because she wants to be able to help other athletes gain the confidence to get back on the field through athletic training. Her favorite thing about Utah State is how many fun activities are going on around campus. Megan is a mountain enthusiast. She loves being outside, whether it be playing sports, camping, rock climbing, or boating. She is excited to help out on council and to help others see how amazing the College of Education and Human Services is.
