How do I set up my payroll?

Talk to your department staff about setting up your payroll information. You will need to bring documentation establishing your work eligibility. List of Acceptable Documents

You will also need to set up your employee reimbursements and payroll direct deposit designations so that funds can be routed directly to your account. The Direct Deposit form and other information can be found on the HR website.

How do I sign up for benefits?

A summary of full-time employee benefits, all applicable forms, options for New Employee Orientation sessions, and a copy of the New Employee Packet can be found on the USU New Employee Information page. We encourage you to review this information and take advantage of the many benefits available to you as a USU employee.

You need to sign up for your benefits within 30 days of your hire date. Please contact HR with any questions.

How do I get my USU email?

Your USU email will be set up by your office staff as soon as your payroll information has been completed by HR. The preferred default for your email is firstname.lastname@usu.edu. It is expected that you will use your USU email for all University business.

What is an A# or Banner ID?

An A# is a unique identification number for students, faculty, and staff within the Banner system. It is a 9-digit number beginning with the letter “A" that will be assigned to you by your department staff.

Visit https://id.usu.edu/new to create a password to be used in conjunction with your A#.

Visit https://id.usu.edu to change your password or manage your contact information and preferred email address.

What is USU Banner?

Banner SSB (ACCESS) is used by students, faculty, and staff to manage their personal information.

Once you have set up your A# and password, use Banner to add your current mailing address, phone numbers, and preferred email address (it is expected that you will use your USU email for all University business). You can also access benefit, payroll, and tax information through the Employee tab on your Banner account.

How do I get my ID card?

Contact HR at (435) 797-0216 to see if your employment record has been completed in the Banner system. Once your record is in the system, you can stop by the card office to get your card. There is a $15 fee for this card.

How do I get keys for my office and labs?

Your department staff can help you order keys.  A deposit is required for non-benefitted employees and students.

How do I get new business cards?

Check with your department staff for available options. If approved, business cards should be ordered electronically from Print and Mail Services (PMS) on campus. 

Is there a college listserv?

Yes! We will automatically add you to the Emma Eccles Jones College of Education and Human Services listserv to ensure that you stay up-to-date on employee information from the college.

How do I get help or support in managing my courses?

Get in touch with The Center for Innovative Design and Instruction (CIDI). The instructional design representative for your department can help you with practical tools (like Canvas), find relevant data about your courses, provide effective support, act as a consultant, and also provide hands-on training. CIDI can help you set up your Canvas course so you can start preparing well before the semester starts.

Where can I find a good place to dine or get coffee?

There are many dining options available on campus. If you use your Aggie Express account on your USU ID card, you can get 10% off all purchases at USU Dining locations.
